Submitting Artwork
Artists wishing to submit their work for public exhibition at The Carpenter Center are asked to follow strict submission guidelines and requirements.
Exhibition Format & Selection
Most of our exhibitions are free, open-call, non-juried, salon-style; Artwork is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
There is no cost to submit your work, though each artist is limited to three pieces per show.

Digital Submission Requirements
A digital version of artwork must be submitted by the exhibition’s specific deadline.
All files must be in .JPG or . JPEG format, with a maximum file size of 2.5MB
Files must be named according to the title of the piece and the physical dimensions of its frame (i.e. SelfPortrait_11×17.jpg)
Preparing Artwork for Display
Artwork must be delivered or mailed to The Carpenter Center on the exhibition’s dedicated drop-off dates.
Pieces must be clean, framed appropriately, and wired properly for hanging. Hanging wires must not extend beyond the top edge of the frame. Clip frames are not permitted.
On the front of each submitted piece, place a removable sticker or post-it note containing the title of the piece and the artists name. Additional information may be requested from the artist at the time of drop-off.
Post-Exhibition Pick-up & Sales
At the conclusion of each exhibition, artists must pick up their submitted work on one of the assigned dates.
No artwork is to be removed from the exhibition prior to the show’s end.
Unless marked otherwise, artwork on display is always for sale.
The Carpenter Center retains a 30% commission on all sales to support future programming and events.
